Greenpoint Technologies Wraps Up 25th Anniversary Year

Greenpoint Technologies, a premier VIP completions center for Boeing Business Jets (BBJ), welcomes 2014 by looking back at 2013’s incredible growth, accolade
and prosperity. More than any year in the past two decades Greenpoint grew in both the number of total employees and tangible assets.

Greenpoint started its 25th year in business by celebrating the on‐time delivery of its 19th Boeing Business Jet – a VVIP BBJ3. The early‐January delivery marked the conclusion of months spent designing, engineering, manufacturing and installing the elegant interior for the company’s confidential customer.

Achievements continued into April when the Boeing Company presented Greenpoint with a Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who achieve superior performance.

Before April came to a close a team of 80 Greenpoint employees, friends, and family members joined Rebuilding Together Seattle to give back to the community on National Rebuilding Day. The team spent the day replacing kitchen appliances, painting, cleaning, finishing a basement and giving the home’s front yard a complete makeover.

In May Greenpoint received AS9100 Rev C Aerospace Quality Management System recertification following a comprehensive audit. The AS9100 audit recognized Greenpoint for its commitment to quality, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing initiatives, and robust program management functions.

Greenpoint employees traveled abroad in May to the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibit (EBACE) to unveil a 747‐8 (1:20 scale) model featuring a highly‐detailed interior design concept by the company’s in‐house design team. The custom model also showcases Greenpoint’s unique products the Aeroloft®, which provides additional passenger rest space above the main deck, and the Aerolift™, an elevator that permits secure access from the ground to main deck.

Prior to the delivery of the company’s fourth Aeroloft® in July, Greenpoint acquired an equity position in the new ownership of Aviation Technical Services (ATS), and with it – a hangar facility. The move not only expanded Greenpoint’s physical footprint, but marked the company’s first investment in the MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) business.

Following Greenpoint’s initial MRO investment, company executives in October finalized its acquisition of Jet Works Air Center in Denton, Texas. The company plans to perform interior refurbishments, VIP completions, maintenance, aircraft painting, and avionics repair and installation. The facility, now called Greenpoint Aerospace comprises more than 100,000 square feet of hangar and office space at the Denton Municipal Airport and employs over 80 technicians and support staff. The location is within minutes of its sister company, Odyssey Aerospace Components; which specializes in design engineering, manufacturing, and quality fit and finish of VIP cabinetry for business jets worldwide.

Greenpoint sets the stage for 2014 with its December 787 VVIP completion contract announcement. One of only a few 787 completion contracts signed, it’s an impressive conclusion to the company’s 25th anniversary year.
